Food Access

The COVID-19 pandemic created an economic crisis that upended many people’s lives. Feeding America estimates that at least 60 million people turned to charitable food assistance in the United States last year. You may find yourself in that position and if you do please know you are not alone.

If you do find yourself needing help there are many places in the community you can turn to find food.

You can first get started by texting food to 304-304 or by visiting New York States Hungry Solutions Site. Here you can find summer meal sites in your community.

You should also make use of your local food bank.

The Sidney Food Pantry located at 12 Liberty Street in Sidney is open Monday and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 11AM as well as on the last Thursday of every month from 5PM to 6:30PM.

The Masonville Food Pantry at the United Methodist Church located at 2126 State Highway 206 in Masonville is open the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11am to 1pm.

The Sidney Center Food Pantry located at 10593 County Highway 23 is open anytime, just call Bob at 607-369-7597 to set up your visit.

In Hamden you can visit the Delaware Opportunities Food Bank located at 35430 State Highway 10 and is open on the last Friday of every month. To access Delaware Opportunities Food Bank please register on their Facebook or by calling 607-746-1685.
